Running a successful business  takes a combination of things. From hiring the right people through to implementing the right business software, these are things that can make or break a venture.

However, one thing that should never be overlooked is your own interpersonal skills. How good are you at talking to your employees? Do they feel comfortable approaching you with their concerns or ideas? Taking notes on charisma and conducting yourself can have a massive effect on the overarching success of your business. If you're interested in finding out some skills, here are some things to make you a top communicator.

Practice being punctual

While this may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a charismatic boss, it's certainly one of the most important things to consider. Setting up meetings with your employees to discuss their insights and thoughts in-depth is one way to be a great boss. However, if you're late to these meetings, the message sent is one of dismissal or unimportance.

If you make an effort to be on time, or even early, this will be received and reciprocated by your employees, allowing you to gain the trust of your staff and create a stronger workforce overall.

Take a proactive approach to problems

Being able to sense when there are simmering problems in your workplace and approaching your staff about it is another great way to become a good communicator. This doesn't mean going up to staff and poking into their business, but rather picking up on subtle signs and approaching them with the opportunity to discuss things if they want to.

Being proactive and opening up this dialogue is often appreciated, especially if the problem they're suffering from is embarrassing or compromising in some way. Bridging that gap is just one way to assert yourself as a trustworthy, reliable communicator and boss.
