Introduction to CashManager

Hello and welcome to Accomplish. My name is Grant Hewson, and I am the General Manager of the company. I’d like to start by thanking you for taking the time to hear about our accounting software “CashManager”, and I sincerely hope that you will find it useful … both for personal and business applications.

We believe CashManager is the first commercially-produced accounting package in the world for which our developers are working with blind people to ensure that it is accessible. Furthermore, the software is purpose designed for simplicity and ease of use by people who are not accounting or IT experts. So it is ideal for the small to medium business owner or everyday householder who wants to achieve better control of his or her financial affairs, and so improve overall management of his or her business or household budget.

I would like to take a few minutes to give you a brief outline as to who we are, what it is we do, and how businesses use our product.

Accomplish was established in the early 1990s by a practising accountant who saw the need for a software program that would allow everyday business people to manage their own books. CashManager was born, therefore, with an absolute focus on simplicity and ease of use. Almost 20 years later, we have some 25,000 businesses using CashManager, primarily throughout Australia and New Zealand, but we have also commenced operations in the UK and the USA. We are based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Within our 25,000 client base, we have a very diverse array of operators, from one-man bands working from their homes through to large complicated operations with multiple branches and many employees. We also cover virtually every industry type. From a development point of view, we are a very active business and have this year released the 15th upgrade version of our software, also known as CashManager 2010.

Now, why do we have thousands of satisfied & happy customers? Well the answer can be found in our software. Simplicity and ease of use by non-accountants, coupled with powerful functionality, have long distinguished Accomplish CashManager from other accounting packages. CashManager software was designed to be as user friendly as possible, so it is easily used by business owners with no accounting or IT experience. Yet it is also powerful, robust software, packed with features which allow business owners instant access to up-to-the-minute financial reports, budget updates and cashflow forecasts, which help them to manage their finances as well as help guide everyday business decisions. The need for this type of information at your fingertips is even more critical given our current challenging economic times.

So it is this simplicity that sets CashManager apart from other accounting packages, which are generally much harder to learn and much more complicated to use … regardless of whether they are being used visually by a sighted person or with screen access software by someone who is blind or vision impaired.

During the past 2 years we became aware that CashManager worked pretty well with some of the screen reading programs used by the blind and vision impaired. This was primarily through blind entrepreneur Terry Bartlett, from Dunedin in New Zealand, and you can hear his story as a separate file on this cd.

As a result, we have spent time further developing CashManager, focusing particularly on keyboard accessibility. We now have a product that is able to be used very effectively by all the major adaptive technologies.

Sticking to our “keep it simple” philosophy, we are confident our product will be ideal for you, be it for a small business, a ‘non-profit’ or simply for personal use.

Now, that’s probably enough from me. This cd has a number of audio files that you may wish to review, including examples of CashManager being used with Freedom Scientific JAWS and GW Micro Window-Eyes.

In addition, we have included a full working trial version of CashManager. Please feel free to load this up and experiment to your hearts content. If you have any questions you will also find appropriate contact details so that we can help you. For further information please visit our site which is www.accomplishglobal.com.

Many thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope we are able to help you further improve your financial accessibility and independence.
