Small business customer service outshines bigger corporations

A recent survey released by CreditDonkey has found that consumers are, on the whole, more satisfied with the efforts of smaller businesses over larger corporations in terms of their customer service skills. The Customer Service Statistics 2013, released June 11, has highlighted that there are far higher expectations regarding customer service than ever before. With the increasing prevalence of the internet, consumers are becoming far more attuned to their own expectations of service. For example, across seven customer-satisfaction categories, larger corporations were outperformed by smaller businesses in all but one area, which indicates an increasing expectation of and satisfaction from more personalised interactions - rather than simply being another customer to larger companies. When it came to satisfying or exceeding customer service expectations, 65 per cent of respondents said that they were satisfied with their experiences with small businesses. Only 13 per cent reported the same satisfaction from larger corporations. More importantly, over 80 per cent of those involved with the survey said that the degree of customer service supplied by a business was indicative of whether or not they would choose to do business with them again. This large number highlights the importance of having good, secure systems of communication in place, and enabling your staff through the latest small business software to satisfy even the toughest demands with the highest degree of professionalism and service possible.
