New Zealand consumer confidence has soared to the highest level in three years this June, which could prompt small business owners to invest in accounting software in order to keep up with the prospective growth. According to the latest Westpac McDermott-Miller Consumer Confidence survey, the country's index jumped to 116.6 in June, the highest rating since June 2010, when it reached 119.3. A reading above 100 indicates more positivity towards consumer confidence and a willingness to spend. Westpac chief economist Dominick Stephens said in a June 17 statement that people were changing from saving to spending mode, and claimed that low interest rates and a growing housing market was boosting consumer spending. "Economic optimism has surged, prices for many consumer goods have been falling and sentiment in rural regions has picked up as the focus shifts from the immediate impact of drought to the prospect of higher dairy payouts," Mr Stephens said. With an incoming rise in consumer spending, it may be time to review your business accounting software. Ensuring that you and your team understand how to make effective use of the software could help give your customers a pleasant experience with your company. For example, making use of CashManager Standard can help you keep track of supplier and customer invoices with ease, and should any complications arise, they can be dealt with simply and effectively. Richard Miller, the managing director of strategy planning and economic consultancy company McDermott Miller, said in a June 14 statement that  rising consumer optimism coupled with confidence in household finances point towards a "resurgence" in consumer spending. "Widespread awareness that retailers are offering attractive sales, and that the high kiwi dollar ensures low prices, should spur consumer spending in the months ahead," Mr Miller said. Ensuring your business is ready for the proposed spending boom is paramount, so investigate CashManager Standard software today!
